Objective

Bhuttico: Jaha Sirf Dhaga Hi Nahi, Bharosa Bhi Buna Jaata Hai

For over 80 years, Bhuttico has been at the forefront of India's handloom heritage — a cooperative that weaves not just shawls, but stories, traditions, and livelihoods. Nestled in the heart of Kullu Valley, Bhuttico is where nature, culture, and craftsmanship come together to create premium handwoven woolens trusted across generations.

Unmatched Quality in Every Thread

  • Finest Wool in the World: We use 100% pure Merino wool imported from Australia — globally acclaimed for its softness, warmth, and durability — and authentic Ladakhi Pashmina in all our Pashmina shawls. Even our Pollywool and other blends are selected from only the best sources to ensure quality.
  • Lab-Tested, Naturally Processed: Every batch of wool undergoes rigorous lab checks for micron level, thread count, moisture, milling, and colorfastness. We ensure no burrs, no color fading, and no alteration in wool’s natural properties. Steam ironing, sunlight impact tests, and eco-treatment processes are part of our meticulous quality checks.
  • No Powerlooms, No Shortcuts: Unlike others, we never use powerlooms. The excessive friction and mechanical handling can degrade wool quality — which is why we stick to pure handweaving using traditional looms.

  • Eco-Conscious Manufacturing: From azo-free dyes to a dedicated treatment plant in our factory, every step is designed to be sustainable and gentle on nature.

Designs Woven from Nature’s Canvas

  • Inspired by the Himalayas: Our designs are drawn from the majestic rivers, mountains, flora, and culture of Himachal — from the Spiti sands to Beas stones, Chamba rumals to ancient Kullu motifs.

  • Living Art in Every Shawl: Every Bhuttico piece is handwoven by artisans from Kullu who add life and soul into each product — something no machine can replicate. We’ve extended this heritage into shawls, stoles, scarves, capes, ponchos, and even custom global orders.

Our Weavers, Our Pride

  • Empowering Artisans: Bhuttico is a weaver-run cooperative, and we treat our weavers like family. We provide gratuity, EPF, welfare funds, recreational support, and among the highest wages for artisans globally.
  • Skill Upgradation & Research: With support from NABARD, Ministry of Textiles, and NCG, we regularly invest in weaver skill enhancement, design innovation, and R&D.
  • Award-Winning Talent: Our weavers have won national and international recognition — including first-place awards at Kullu Dussehra for 7 consecutive years. We also host the annual Ved Ram Jayanti on 21st April to honour artisans with national and global awards.
  • Resilience Through Crisis: Even during COVID-19, we stood by our people. Not a single weaver was laid off; instead, the team came together with voluntary pay cuts to keep Bhuttico alive and strong.

The Bhuttico Assurance

  • Lifetime Responsibility: We take full responsibility for any weaving or technical defect — for as long as the shawl stays with you.
  • Ethical, Transparent, Accountable: From sheep to shawl, every step is traceable and accountable. Our sheep graze in open natural environments to ensure the softest wool possible.

More Than a Shawl — A Movement

When you buy from Bhuttico, you’re not just purchasing a garment. You’re supporting livelihoods, preserving centuries-old craftsmanship, and wearing a piece of India’s cultural soul. Every weave is a vote for slow fashion, ethical work, and Himalayan heritage.
